Former Mountain View Senior High School star Gavin Derr took the field with the Washington State Cougars on Tuesday, March 17, at 4 p.m. The Cougars fell 8-5 in their NCAA Division I matchup against the Utah Utes.
The contest, held at Smith’s Ballpark, marked the first meeting between the Cougars and Utes this season.
Derr gave up one earned run and issued a walk in his appearance.
Washington State will host its next game Friday, March 20, at Bailey-Brayton Field, taking on the Grand Canyon Antelopes.
