The Morrow County Board of Commissioners announced on April 1 the creation of the Community Assistance Grant Program to provide transparent and equitable access to grant funding for non-profit and community organizations.
The program aims to improve how local groups in Morrow County apply for and receive discretionary funds, supporting projects and events considered vital to area communities. This initiative is part of efforts by county officials to ensure fairness and openness in distributing county resources.
Matt Jensen, County Administrator, said, “The County has always been very active in funding community needs and events. This program formalizes an open and transparent method that non-profits and other community groups can request funds. This openness is one of the initiatives that the Board of Commissioners adopted in the 2026 Strategic Plan.”
Applications will be reviewed by a five-member committee using a preset metric before recommendations are made to the County Administrator and Finance Director. Final approval will come from the Board of Commissioners. Resources such as application files are available at www.morrowcountyor.gov/administration/page/community-assistance-grant-program, with a first deadline set for Friday, April 17, 2026. Awarded funds will be distributed after July 1, 2026.
