City of Madras issued the following announcement on Mar. 25.
Sunday, March 20th a community member who cares about their community observed vandalism occurring at the Madras Skate Park and did exactly what we want our community to do...they called the non-emergency police dispatch number at 541-475-2201. Now, Madras PD has the opportunity to pursue leads on the incident which isn't always the case. (Photos shows parking lot curb and paver destruction and the vandals spread broken concrete over the skate bowl.)
Damage to public property is costly and time consuming to our citizens. It steals money budgeted for your community improvements, raises insurance rates, and consumes precious time from your law enforcement personnel and public works crews. We appreciate your diligence in keeping a watchful eye on your community and reporting anything that can help us curb this detrimental behavior. Program this number in your phone and make the call!
