City of Madras issued the following announcement on June 1.
We live in a wildland/urban interface and one small spark, combined with the winds we get here, could sweep through our area with devastating impact. Jefferson County Fire District #1 has called an end to all burning as of June 1st. However, you must ALWAYS call the burn line at 541-475-1789 BEFORE burning. Do it for yourself, do it for your neighbor. Let's have a safe summer.
