DUII Driver Crashes into Power Pole Causing Power Outage

On July 20, 2022 at approximately 2:21 PM the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported single vehicle motor vehicle crash in the area of Baker Road and Apache Road in Deschutes River Woods. The initial report was a vehicle had crashed into a power pole and the vehicle was on fire.

Upon arrival the deputies determined the vehicle was not on fire, but the crash caused the power lines to fall to the ground and start the nearby grass on fire. Residents in the area were working to extinguish the fire. When the deputies first arrived they used their fire extinguishers to put the fire out.

Deputies determined the driver of the Subaru Legacy, Lisa Hall was driving east on Baker Road in the area of Apache Road when she went off the roadway colliding into a rock outcropping causing her to go airborne and crash into a power pole guide wire which caused the power lines to go down. Hall’s vehicle ultimately came to a stop when it collided with a moving truck and her vehicle got stuck underneath. When Hall collided with the rock outcropping one of the rocks went airborne and struck a passing car. The passing car had three occupants at the time. None of the occupants were injured in this incident.

Hall was transported to Saint Charles by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Upon arrival at the hospital, Hall tried running away. Hall was quickly detained by deputies. Due to evidence obtained during the crash investigation deputies had probable cause to believe Hall was driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs).

The roadway was closed for approximately one and a half hours while the power lines were repaired.

Hall was cited and released at Saint Charles for the above mentioned charges.
